STAGE 01

Building the black-and-ivory contrast

The original jacket establishes the wide ivory sleeves, black body and fine striped ribbing as one continuous graphic. The source specifies a black-and-white polyester jacquard trim, while the market sample uses a visibly wider band. We examine the outer surface, smooth lining and striped trims separately, keeping their different textures in view as the black-and-ivory design is developed.

STAGE 02

Carrying the motif through production

The curved chest emblem is refined as a white embroidery against the black body, then repeated on individual front panels. At the same time, the pattern layout, striped rib pieces and metal zip are checked on the jacket so the motif, colour blocking and centre opening stay aligned as one design.

RE:DEFINE follows the original's black-and-ivory colour blocking and lined construction. The market jacket has broader-looking shoulder stripes and leaves the pocket bags and outer-fabric seams visible inside. These differences change both the balance of the colour blocking and the finish seen when the jacket is open.

The collar, shoulder trim and ribbed cuffs repeat the same narrow black-and-ivory rhythm. RE:DEFINE stays close to the original's stripe widths and keeps a compact white chest emblem, while the market sample has warmer-looking ivory sections, wider trim and a softer, less defined emblem in these comparisons. The pocket opening and centre zip remain visually restrained within that stronger colour-block structure.
