Original garments provide the working references for this development. Light and dark cloth samples are examined at close range alongside garment-washing trials so the muted colour and worn-in surface are developed through the fabric itself rather than treated as a flat shade.

The graphic is developed at different scales for the large T-shirt motif and the smaller coordinating shorts mark. Transfer trials examine the irregular pale backing and dark letter edges against the washed cloth before pressing, keeping the tape-like texture visible instead of reducing it to a smooth rectangle.

Mechanical abrasion is guided by hand along selected garment edges, including the coordinating shorts waistband. Keeping the treatment local creates a worn finish at the intended points without applying the same effect across the entire fabric surface.

RE:DEFINE stays close to the original reference’s muted blue-black tone, while the market T-shirt shown in the comparison appears darker and carries a visibly larger tape-effect graphic. The graphic is evaluated together with the ribbed neckline, stitching and lightly worn edges so it remains integrated with the faded garment; the coordinating shorts continue the same visual language through the hem, gathered waistband and drawcord details.
