The material study starts with the reference garment and moves through yarn samples, a close inspection of the knit and successive emblem trials. Comparing the small leather detail against the pale body helps establish its colour and scale before the garment is knitted and assembled. The machine-side records complete this account of how the plain cotton surface and chest accent were developed together.
