How this piece was made.

STAGE 01

Shell Material Development

The development began with the outer-shell character, using Airsoft 20D fabric references and supplier swatches to select a matte surface, fine weave, and lightweight hand suitable for the jacket’s rounded, generously filled silhouette.

STAGE 02

Trim and Identity Development

Hardware and identity components were developed alongside the shell, including branded zipper pulls and traceability labels. The aim was to reproduce the original visual language through coordinated metal finishes, pull-tab proportions, logo placement, and label presentation.

The side-by-side review covers the overall padded form and the long leather-trimmed zip pockets. The developed version follows the reference’s broad horizontal quilting, high collar, extended front tapes, and narrow textured pocket borders, while minor differences in loft and how the shell settles remain visible.

This comparison focuses on the embossed leather-like trim and the internal Airsoft 20D label. Logo scale, tonal embossing, border treatment, typography, and label layout were developed to closely follow the reference; small variations in surface grain and stitching tension can still be seen.

The final comparison checks the slim zip-pocket construction and the interior DIST traceability label. The developed version retains the narrow zipper openings, silver-tone pulls, dark shell presentation, and corresponding label structure, with slight differences in print definition and fabric drape.
