How this piece was made.

STAGE 01

Yarn and Surface Study

Development starts with the wool-cashmere blend and the relationship between the woven ground and its brushed surface. Magnified views bring the yarn structure and surrounding fibres into focus before attention moves to the raised motif.

STAGE 02

Raised Embroidery and Fringe

The embroidered motif is examined at close range, from the density of its stitches to the height above the cloth. Fringe yarns complete this stage, connecting the surface treatment with the finish at the scarf ends.

This group moves from the scarf edge and labels to the arrangement of the large motif against the repeating ground. The closer and wider views connect the small finishing details with the appearance of the complete scarf.
